Digital cameras provide us with wonderful photographs that have crystal clarity but with very high resolution that is not exactly suitable for uploading and sharing. They also tend to result in our taking many, many pictures in the camera’s RAW format which will need to be converted before you can share them online
So, there you are with a number of photos that need resizing and converting. No problem – there are many free image converters for you to choose from when you’re ready to convert images and they all function as image resizers so that you can resize images at the same time. Not just a resizer but an image converter and editor, too
While it may bill itself as a resizer, FastStone Photo Resizer is actually far more than that. In addition to being able to convert images, it can resize them, rename, crop them, rotate, add text and even watermark them – all in batch mode, too!
The simple to use portable utility, with drag and drop operation opens to a two-part interface where you can browse your images – JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, and TIFF – in the left-hand panel. Select the ones for processing and add them to the input list in the right-hand panel using the buttons in between. Under the list, you’ll find your basic tools and a preview window.
Select the output format and output location, check the rename box, using the wildcard option if you want to sequentially number the images, and other boxes as required. The Advanced Options box opens a dialog box for the program’s many editing features including resize image, crop, adjust color depth and effects, add text, search replace text, change file names, add borders and watermark. Click OK when finished and the dialogue box closes. Back on the main window, click Convert to begin the batch conversion.
Powerful features with drag and drop functionality
